Gerandigini Ella is a 270-meter chain of cascades resembling a slithering rat snake, tumbling from the Galaha Forest Reserve and visible for miles across the Ramboda highlands.

Why visit Gerandigini Ella

• Massive multi-tiered structure: Gerandigini Falls is an amalgamation of several waterfalls totaling 270 meters in height, making it visible from a long distance.
• Origin and flow: The waterfall originates from the Galaha Forest Reserve, flows through Galbithiya, and eventually joins the Puna Oya River, where it also forms a 6-meter-high secondary fall.
• Distinctive name and appearance: The name “Gerandi Ella” (meaning Rat Snake Waterfall) comes from its long, narrow, snake-like shape, and although several waterfalls share this name, the Tawalantanna one near Ramboda is the most famous.
