Bring Your Own Supplies: Unlike Pasikuda, which is lined with resorts and stalls, Kalkudah is largely undeveloped. There are very few places to buy water or snacks, so bring everything you need for the day.
Swim with Caution: While the water is turquoise and clear, Kalkudah does not have the same protective reef "pool" as Pasikuda. The waves can be more unpredictable and there are fewer lifeguards, so stay close to the shore.
Respect the Fishing Rhythms: This is an active working beach for the local Tamil community. If you see fishermen hauling in large "Ma-del" nets (a process that takes hours), keep a respectful distance and avoid swimming directly in their path.
