Sri Lankan coffee, once one of the world's largest coffee exports before a 19th-century leaf rust disease shifted the island toward tea, is bold and aromatic, traditionally brewed strong and sometimes spiced with cardamom, cinnamon, or cloves; today it's enjoyed with milk and sugar as a lesser-known specialty alongside Ceylon tea.
